I have my child care set up in centers. The children can move around different centers at their own pace and take time to play and explore during center time activities.  I rotate the items in the centers according to the theme or the time of year. Most of my materials are from educational catalogs. They are developmentally appropriate and they are items children usually have not seen before.

Art  & Writing Area
Here children can choose from different materials I have specific art supplies and also they can choose from the art shelf. They learn fine motor skills like cutting and pasting, creativity, shape, size, patterns (math  & pre reading skills), creativity, imagination, and sharing materials. Children can practice writing letters and numbers.

Game Area
The children can choose from a wide variety of games to play. They work on following the rules of games, socialization skills, taking turns and cooperation.  I also have games to help learn  the State Capitals, money, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Computer Area
We have several education programs preschool through 12 year old level), where the children can learn many different skills. They can also work on writing up reports and making up stories!

Book Area
Soft pillows and low chairs are available along with many different books for 4 year olds up to age 12!

Fooseball Table and Air Hockey Tables
This area is very popular with our school-agers. They learn about following rules, working on eye hand coordination, and playing cooperatively.

Block Area
Children learn of concepts like size, length and location (math & reading skills), cooperation, imagination, and problem solving skills.

 Science Area
Explore different ideas and materials from butterflies, insects, and magnets to name a few! Children learn new vocabulary, concepts such as weight and size, and develop a sense of curiosity about their world.

Cooking Activities
They learn about nutrition, volume and measuring (math skills), tasting, and self-esteem-creating yummy foods!

Outside Play
Children develop self-confidence, strength, coordination, balance, and cooperation.

Group Time
Develop and increase attention spans, listening, and communication skills.

Sensory Area
Explore different textures and materials; use their imagination, pour and measure (math skills).

Manipulative & Math Area
Increase coordination, problem skills, sorting, counting, colors, sizes, shapes, and use imagination.  There are also materials to help learn money concepts, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.

Dramatic Play
Try out different roles, learn about their world, and develop socialization skills. This area always changes sometimes it is a house, restaurant, pizza parlor, or doctor’s office!
